Marshmallow farming in Alberta. Thanks for your time and comments yesterday. The photo of the river was taken south of Smokey Lake in Alberta at the Metis Crossing.

on September 8, 2022If those are the marshmallows I don't want to see the toasting fork! Great autumnal /late summer scene.

on September 8, 2022It's going to take a BIG cup of cocoa to fit those BIG marshmallows! I had heard of covering the hay bales like this, but hadn't seen it. Interesting to see.

on September 7, 2022Prior to reading your caption, I thought and chuckled to myself "these hay barrels look like marshmallows." I would never have known it was marshmallow farming, but my husband would have known. He teases me about being a "City Girl" and I have gained so much knowledge from him on a variety of subjects because he's a proud "Country Boy," but thank God we balance each other out -:)!

on September 7, 2022What a hoot! Terrific shot! So, now they are covering the bales of hay in some kind of plastic to keep them from being degraded by fungus?

on September 7, 2022What a cool and unique scene. I've not seen the hay bales wrapped like this before. Very nice capture.

on September 7, 2022Very interesting. First image I've seen of how marshmallows are prepared before going to the factories. Well captured.
