on September 28, 2011The loyalty of the generations in the South is moving and this image really captures it. Wonderful shot. I didn't grow up in the South. But I have been here (Florida, Arizona and Texas almost my entire adult life (since age 20). The Southern perspective on the Civil war that I've learned over the years is in such deep conflict with the Northern perspective taught in the schools where I grew up. I guess I've come to lean more toward the Southern understanding of the history, maybe because the Confederate states are still struggling to overcome the financial implications of loosing the Civil War. How well you capture the emotions without even showing a Southern soul.
