Not my usual or in the candy theme but this Ruffed Grouse has been eluding me for the past year. He usually comes out early in the morning or late in the evening when there is not enough light. But yesterday when I came home from work, there were two of them in the trees. It's amazing that a bird with this weight can sit on the small branches at the top of a tree.

on August 4, 2010Thanks for your comment. Being such a bird person, I just had to see your birds, bugs, etc. gallery. Here I found this wonderful Ruffed Grouse, which I've always wanted to see (in the wild) but it's such a treat to see it in my living room as well.
